Junior & Amateur ranks reaching top positions before leaving for London in 1990. Continued to compete in the Amateur field in London , training with such names as Jason Gilkison, Michael Stylianos & Lorna Lee, Colin James & Walter Laird, danced at the Albert Hall, successfully competed at UK Open, British Open, Dutch Open, reached Semi-Finals at the US Open. Turned Professional in 1996, passing IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) Associate examination "Highly Commended". Two years later passed IDTA Membership examination "Highly Commended". In addition passed NATD (National Association of Teachers of Dancing) Licentiate examination "Highly Commended" in 2001. Licensed to Adjudicate Ballroom & Latin American dancing at Championship level by BDC (British Dance Council), WD&DSC (World Dance & DanceSport Council) and IDSF (International DanceSport Federation) After retiring from competitions since 2001 have been Organisers of one of largest International Events in the UK , Crystal Palace DanceSport Cup where 200 top couples from over 25 countries compete every year. In 2002 Olga was nominated and short-listed for the "Sunday Times Sports Women of the Year" Awards in category "Administrator of the Year". Nick & Olga believe in value of DanceSport Clubs as the most beneficial form of dance training, as shared costs and team spirit help young dancers to reach their full potential, allowing for personal aims from social inclusion to top-notch competitive career. |
